Nov 8, 2020 · Onefinity won two of the 4 categories that I've highlighted (Tied in one and only lost the 4th because of time). For those reasons I'm giving Onefinity the win. Remember, I've personally had an X-Carve, Shapeoko 3 XXL, and the Onefinity Woodworker CNC's in my shop. Since my shop is small, I only have room for one, and that one is the Onefinity CNC.
To do this, open the menu on the left, select motor 0 for the x axis, or motors 1 and 2 for the y axis, scroll down to the homing section at the bottom, and note the stall current threshold which is 1 amp by default. Increase it by a small increment of about 0.1 amps, which brings it up to 1.1 amps.(The only settings I changed from Wood Worker to Journeyman were the necessary for Motor “0” to increase the area [soft limit changed from 816 to 1219, and travel per rev changed from 10 to 10]). The original uses a controller built off of Buildbotics and the Elite uses a Masso G3 Touch . Because of this, the original uses open loop stepper motors. The Elite series uses closed loop.
