The other morning I went to start it but when I turned the key to the first position I did not hear the buzzing sound (the fuel pump I have always assumed) I normally hear.

The field excitement from the power source, the stator (charging coil) is also incompatible between the two systems, so the ignitors are also unique and not interchangeable.B.
