No noticable lag issues just disconnects. Internet doesn't go out just get disconnected from ff14 and that's it at least once a night. I play from 2-5am est. Sounds similar to what I've been having, except maybe 2-3 times over a 5-minute period, especially while in instances. Its a lot smoother and still looks pretty AF. Yes, the PS5 Versions performs worse than the PS4 one played on PS5 even tho it looks exactly the same. Especially in Bozjan and Zadnor the CEs are a lag fest. Digital Foundry mentions this in their Video about XIV.
