If you intend to use it with the volume up / gain down to hit the front end of the amp, you might prefer the stock version since the bass roll off will keep the lows tighter and more defined.The SD has lower gain than an AC booster (feels like it) but cleans up better. If you're interested in a DD-ish pedal with a mids knob, check out the GCX. It has the gain changer/LTD flavor, but with a mids knob like I said.
