No matter how far down the scale we have gone, we will see how our experience can benefit others. 6.There are many ways to recover, and recovery programs and fellowships are not one-size-fits-all. So while I will neither promote nor condemn AA, 12-step programs, or the Big Book, I will say that these promises have come true in my life, and in the lives of others. All it takes is a little dedication, hard work, and honesty in your program.

Many of us have heard of the Ninth Step Promises from page 83-84 of the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous. There are, however, additional promises in the Big Book. The following is a list of approximately 150 promises that I compiled from the first edition of the Big Book. Some of the promises are directly associated with completion of a step.The GSR should have a good knowledge of the structure of AA. The GSR should be a regular weekly attender at his or her own Group and therefore be able, should necessity arise, to stand in for any other officer of the Group who is unable to be present.
