Sometimes going into settings on phone and manually connecting phone to device on either BT or WI-FI will fix. Sometimes turning both WI-FI and BT off and back on on iPhone fixes it. I also purchased a wireless CarPlay adapter for my 21 JGC last May from Amazon. The brand is Drimfly (not Carlink). It is not flawless but works quite well. It would connect my phone within 30-45 seconds. Over the past 6 months, I had to reset it (disconnect and reconnect the USB cable) about 10-12 times.

I have the same issue with you. I have a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. It has a type-a port and a type-c port for the carplay. Weirdly, I tried all my type-a to type-c cables on my car. None of them activate the carplay, some of them I confirm it is a USB3 or data cable. I even tried to use a type-a to type-c adapter with a c-c cable. It just doesn't works.
