It's frequently argued to be the best .22 bolt action for the money.

Here is why: The real “advantage” of the Tikka is you can shoot NRL22 in Base Class and still have room for a decent optic. The use of an aftermarket stock immediately places you in Open Class. The cost of a T1X plus the KRG is not that far off from a B14R barreled action plus KRG. The Tikka is very nice, but is a light rifle.

The 14R really wants to be and is a great trainer rifle. But the 457 is a woodman's/fieldmans rifle. I agree with this assessment. The B-14R is a tank, and I wouldn't want to lug it around in the woods. There are many models of 457, and most are suited to woods walking, and all are lighter and handier than the B-14R.
