You'll only need enough to cover your shift - if it's 9 hours with a lunch scheduled, you'll use 8 hours.

Don't ever use regular PTO for a key day.

Bear in mind, points can take up to 2 weeks to show up. And generally speaking, it's hard to input PPTO after a pay period has ended. So it does make some sense to wait to see if you get pointed, since sometimes you don't (they sometimes never get around to it) but it's a pain to put it in if it was in a previous pay period

I don't know if I'll gain enough ppto before then to be able to call out those two days, if they even are key dates.
