Your point is that a small gun is small for good reason, namely concealability, and my point is that that small gun doesn't have to remain small because even at a similar height and length to a typical full-size gun (say my VP9 for example), it's still more concealable due to being thinner. Good Morning, The XMacro does not come in a comp version under the LE/MIL program of SIG's. This is due to "Comps" are not Duty Approved. As far as getting the slide, you will also have to get a 3.1 P365 barrel to put in it. As the 3.7" that comes on the XMacro for LE/MIL is to long to fit into the slide because of the milling around the comp.

Current P365 XMacro models seem to be a result of consumer demand. Amongst other differences: P365 XMacro: 3.7" barrel P365 XMacro Comp: 3.1" barrel with compensator P365 XMacro Tacops: 3.7" barrel, extra mags etc. Seems to me that the central question is: longer barrel or compensator. My wife's P365-380 Rose has been completely reliable.The pull on my X Macro is lighter, but the take up is too long, with far too much creep, a bit of overtravel, and a break that is simply intolerable in anything but a pocket pistol. To me, the Sig P365 X Macro Comp would be about the best gun of its size IF it were not for having a very limiting pocket pistol trigger.I have both a P365 & a P320 (M18 with X-Compact grip) and my first thought was the same as yours. I will say that the X-Macro “Comp” does shoot a bit flatter for me and with just maybe a bit less perceived recoil.
