Is Ryze support viable? I've tried it out in Normal several times now and I'm surprised at how good Ryze is at securing kills. His E-W-Q combo is pretty much always guaranteed to hit and causes massive damage during early-mid game. He scales a bit poorly, for some reason he doesn't do much damage during late game, and is quite squishy.This will have two results. The first and most likely result is that the Ryze will back like a beta and buy some random mana crystal or something. This is good; you can stay in lane and get exp since the mana items don't give huge damage spikes in such low quantities (he has a 5% bonus mana ratio on his E+Q, so one mana crystal would give 12.5 ...The jungle item (currently) gives you more omni than fully stacked rav vs monsters, (and let's be real, that's the best bit of omnivamp, being able to EQ chickens to heal from 0 to 100) so you don't even need domination secondary if u want. I one tricked ryze top, but with the minion aggro update its actually just too hard in some matchups now. I'm having a hard time finding ryze viable at all right now, but he is specifically worse after that aggro update. Like many have said, this is actually more manageable top lane. You can play with the bushes.

That said I think Ryze is a great champion to learn the game on. Ridiculous wave clear. Great gank assist. His ult cn be used as both engage and disengage, but has risks in both. He gets to a point at two items that his wave/enemy jungle clear helps him accelerate to late game faster than other champions.
