537 posts · Joined 2006. #6 · Jul 8, 2007. I have a 3205 and my PTO ran me nuts for awhile. Look very closely at the bottom of the bellows. Mine had a very hard to see line crack that caused it not to be able to develop vacuum and engage. All indications will be that the PTO should be engaged, yet it isn't.

If you battery was shorted or bad,it would not have the reserve to engage the clutch. When you depress the clutch, forward motion and everything else should stop. If this is not happening, then the clutch plates have rusted together and you will have to try and break them free.

I took a break from clearing last weekend, and when I came back, the PTO lever would not move far enough for the PTO to engage.
