LBZ with good tuning will take slot. Put down 650 hp with Danville 68 stage two, DP mod CP3, and 60 over sticks. Ran that hard for a year. Towed 10000lbs camper, several 1500 mile plus road trips, and drag raced a set of BFG ATs off. Last year stepped up to BMW 80 over that 68 and put down 800ish. Stock bottom still hanging in there!

The torque curve just isn't there for long hills loaded heavy. Peak torque pops in at 1600 and tapers off as rpms Increase. So by that math 1600 should be good, wrong its hp just isn't there at that low of a rpm. Ive found the best happy place is 2300. Coincidentally that's where HP and torque cross on the chart.
