189 posts · Joined 2009. #6 · Jan 25, 2010. You can't move the drive/lift wheels on a 7000 John Deere 4/6 row unless you torch cut them off first. Those planters use a solid applicator style lift wheel system that pivots on two bearing holders. The bearing holders are welded to the frame on the 7000 series.
I have converted my 8 row narrow planter over to lockouts off from a 7200 planter but I dont know were to set the population. The drive sprocket is about an 1/2" bigger in diameter. Will someone please help. I would like 32000-34000 population settings.John Deere Operations CenterThere may be some subtleties we have missed. The 7000 is a good planter design, it can be worn out, easymoney hit nearly all the wear spots. The main wear points are the gauge wheel arms, and the tailpiece pivots.
