You aren’t actually from San Francisco, it seems like you’re coming from somewhere else and you’re a tourist getting rolled by some gentrification prejudice.
As far as mechanically they’re the same truck, different badge. In fact my Yukon wasn’t any different then my Silverado. I’d go with the one you find aesthetically pleasing. I am debating the same thing. I like the look of the Denali much more but I have heard that quality wise the Tahoe is better than the GMC. Regarding charging, charge as much as possible before heading into Tahoe. While Tahoe has sufficient number of superchargers, the rate is quite slow with cold battery. If possible, charge overnight (trickle charging or L2) to keep the battery warm. This will save you time on the supercharger. Mind the WIND. Just because it's warmer doesn't mean there's no wind. If gusts exceed 35 MPH, the usual suspects in Tahoe (Palisades and Heavenly) are prone to upper mountain lift closures. This isn't great, because spring snow is significantly better at higher elevations. PLAN the day holistically.

7 Nov 2023 ... 395 is a spectacular drive. I've done it on Thanksgiving weekend with no issues but you never know what will happen. Bring chains to be safe.
Frankly, snow tires make the biggest difference as long as you have any AWD. I strongly recommend Blizzaks. Subaru (Outback), Lexus (Rx), and Tesla (S/X), in my experience, do very well handling 80 and Truckee areas. But when the snow is heavy on the road, better to not drive if possible.

To be frank, it's nearly impossible to fish tahoe without one. Assuming you're after macinaw, the charters will troll with flashers and corn. The fish are deep, often a couple hundred feet. There is some good shore and boat fishing out by cave rock. My suggestion would be to do a charter and cancel the boat if it's a rental without a fish ...For cheaper, consider Boreal, Soda, Donner Ski Ranch or Tahoe Donner. A torch run isn’t night skiing. Heavenly night skiing is not open to the public. They do have night skiing as part of their community racing league but if you're not already signed up, entry is closed. Too bad headlamp night skiing isn't available somewhere it Tahoe. Seems like that would be a popular attraction. It's a huge mountain with great parks - and most importantly it's really high. The base of Mammoth is higher than the tops of Tahoe, and that means more and better snow for a longer season. If you are staying on the south shore, and the conditions are right, it is worth it to check out Kirkwood.
