Hello, I'm currently working on a project to create a more customizable rigid frame than what is already available in revit. I decided to start from scratch to maximize the amount of adjustable parameters in the family. Since I started with absolutely no experience in creating families, I made the decision to create a beam
probably a difference in units rounding from a dimension type to the Project Units setting. If you are dimensioning with rounding set to nearest 1' for instance you will always get 6'-0" x 7'-0" doors even though they might be 5'-11 13/16" x 7'-1 1/2" in reality. Structural will use Floors for everything (floors can have cut profiles), Arch Roof sits on top of the Struct Floor. Same for floors. Struct own the floor and Arch puts another on top for finishes. Unfortunately, I am pretty sure there is no way to alter the dimension string with a jog symbol.. Usually we put a dashed line/jog line on either side of the croped view, and that works great for us.
03-22-2021 05:20 PM. I would seriously reconsider buying an M1 Mac for any sort of 3D work, but especially of course for Revit, since it is not supported on M1 Macs. Most 3D applications (including Revit) either require, or run much better, with dedicated 3D graphics.
Swapnil. Families do not have line styles they use line patterns and subcategories (object styles). Remove the unwanted subcategories / line patterns before loading into the project. If you've already loaded the family you can still remove them through object styles/ line patterns dialogue, however this will act project wide.If you are doing finishes this way you can only add them by room instance. In simple projects where we aren't applying materials we have shared parameters for ceiling, floor, wall base and all 4 walls. We then can create a room finish schedule which has the finish marks, and finally a finish schedule that shows the manufacturer, etc. of each ...5.
