If you failed to provide any documents, forms, or other evidence necessary to prove that you're eligible for a marriage-based green card, you will likely get an RFE. And that's a good thing—certainly preferable over USCIS outright denying an application that was missing required initial evidence. 2.My I-130 got finally approved for her and she got an RFE for Form I-693 (medical exam form) early August to complete processing her I-485. They told me they could inquire USCIS if I would want to know why they think I cannot adjust status. but I don't know if that would make sense. anyways, I already filed I-485 and am waiting for the medical RFE and interview as they took my biometrics already. Employment based I-485 can be approved without interview so once you respond you could get approvals without interview. It may say initial because you should have sent medical with initial packet. The RFE may relate to the I-485 packet rather than your I-140 which is already approved.
