I would first make sure the two larger screws are correct in receiver. The one on the side and forward bottom, same diameter, head, different lengths. IIRC putting the long one in the side binds the works. Team 336 #369. Team 444 #511. Team 450 #59. Team 45-70 #425. Team 1894 # 120.

The Guns. We chose a pair of Marlins and a pair of Winchesters for this test. They were the Marlin Models 30 AW and 336 CS, and two Winchester Model 94s in Ranger and Legacy versions.
