I think they got rid of it since it also wouldn't work if the actuator on the trunk fails. @texhawk0 has the solution for that if everything already broke.

The trunk button still does not work. I looked through the owner's manual and found on page 5-105 a schematic for the Rear Compartment Fuse Block. This appears to have the relay for the Trunk Release (item 22 for those playing along at home). The problem is, the manual states this block is located INSIDE the trunk.
