Luckily there are two empires between them and the core of my nation, however they are very close to an outpost of mine, which contains a natural wormhole. If the Scourge were to reach my nearby outpost & system, they could travel through the wormhole, and pop up in the middle of my Empire, and have free reign to ravage my core worlds.
